Had I known that Dr. Adams could have simply fixed me up with such ease I would have visited her long ago. I didn't know something like this could be that easy.

I've been to 3 physical therapists and 2 physiatrists before I found Karen and they were at one of the top hospitals in the country, and she just blew them right out of the water.

Karen is an amazing and totally hands-on physical therapist! I came in with a broken leg, feeling pretty frustrated with my recovery. Within a couple of weeks she had me jumping up and down, balancing, and even jogging around a bit. I completely recommend that anyone who needs a PT call Karen. She's kind and helpful and totally enthusiastic about what she does.

Full Testimonials

For about five years I had a mild pain in my left shoulder. It would become numb when I raised my arm laterally at eye level. I never took care of it. I just thought it was something older folks got. But recently I participated in an obstacle race. I injured my right shoulder. Now I had a mild pain in one shoulder and a strong pain in the other. This was no good. With my new shoulder pain I felt my range of motion was greatly impeded and there was a dull, aching pain that kept me up at night.

I went to see Dr. Karen Adams to see if she could help me. I was a bit tentative at first as I don't like going to the doctors. But she was really nice and asked me a lot of questions. She made me feel comfortable. Dr. Adams manipulated my arms, neck and shoulders and quickly accessed what the problem was with one shoulder. She took more time to discern what the issue was with my other shoulder then came to a conclusion. There was a few procedures that she performed on me that day which immediately released some of the pains that I was having. I was quite frankly shocked at what she knew and how to address my injury even at this initial stage.

Dr. Karen then scheduled me in for weekly treatments. She instructed several workouts for me to do at home and well as other treatments she performed on me when I came into her clinic. Each week I saw gradual improvement. Being a fitness person herself she also advised me on how to progress cautiously at the gym with my exercises. This was great too because I found out she was a great mover and dedicated herself to an active lifestyle. A natural pairing of knowledge I thought, physical therapy and strength building.

After a month I started to heal up well. It was after several more visits I was good enough to move off on my own.

It has been less than a year so far and I have had zero problems with both shoulders. I can also self-remedy myself when I feel tight with the many different stretches she taught me. But I have no pains. I am also continuing my training at Gymnasia, taking baby steps with any over head movements, making sure I don't overdo anything.

Had I known that Dr. Adams could have simply fixed me up with such ease I would have visited her long ago. I didn't know something like this could be that easy.

Karen is an amazing and totally hands-on physical therapist! I came in with a broken leg, feeling pretty frustrated with my recovery. Within a couple of weeks she had me walking around without a boot, jumping up and down, balancing, and even jogging around a bit. She really took the time to get to know me and what my goals were with recovery. After only about a month there, I went from being in a boot to playing sports again!  I couldn't believe it. Everyone's injury and recovery is different, but she will work with you to minimize your recovery time and maximize your results.

The exercises we did were different each week, and really fun! She has use of the fitness place next door, so we were able to work out on the mat and use some of their weights and other equipment.

I completely recommend that anyone who needs a PT call Karen. She's kind and helpful and totally enthusiastic about what she does.

I (66 year old) began seeing Dr. Adams in March, 2014.  I had been suffering for several months with an increasingly painful and "locked up" right shoulder.  I could no longer turn around, putting my arm over the seat back, to back my car or to reach for something in the back seat.  Opening and closing the garage door was painful.  I was unable to reach for items on high shelves at home.   However, by November, 2014, I was completely cured, through a combination of manual techniques, incredibly wonderful shoulder manipulation, and exercises and stretches which she supervised during my visits and gave me to do as "homework".  Dr. Adams is a very skilled practitioner as well as a warm, thoughtful, and caring person.  I can not recommend her highly enough.

I was incredibly fortunate to meet Karen when I did. I had had major ankle surgery a year and a half prior to meeting her and had worked with a different physical therapist post-surgery but was still experiencing pain and having issues walking. I was at a point where I was fairly depressed and discouraged, thinking my condition could not improve.

Karen approached me with professionalism, kindness, and immense knowledge about my condition. She viewed my issues holistically and came up with a plan that worked for me. I saw her regularly over the course of a few months and continued to feel stronger every week. She encouraged healing while stretching and strengthening.

While physical therapy is not easy, I looked forward to seeing Karen every week and knew I would feel better after my session. Karen worked one on one with me, always giving me her undivided attention. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for above excellent care!

I have worked with Dr. Adams after a couple surgeries and she has helped me and given me the tools to get back on my feet and running. Working with her is like seeing a friend who actually knows how to get you back on your feet.

I found Dr. Adams helpful with recovery, but also maintenance when pushing myself in physical activity. Dr. Adams is so friendly and competent that it is worth traveling a little further to work with her.
